2. Offline-First Principles & Local Storage

Rowen is built with a local-first design philosophy. Your custom calculation strips, mathematical formulas, numeric ledger entries, custom steppers, and inline notes are stored locally on your device. We do not inspect, monetize, access, or harvest your private calculation inputs or ledger records.

3. Anonymous Guest Mode & Optional Authentication

You can use Rowen completely anonymously in Guest Mode immediately upon download without registering, creating an account, or providing personal identifiers. If you voluntarily choose to sign in (such as via Apple Sign-In), we process only minimal necessary account tokens (such as your Apple user identifier and email or private relay alias) strictly to authenticate your session, maintain subscription entitlements across your devices, and ensure account security. Your calculations and ledger records remain stored locally on your device.

4. On-Device Mathematical Processing

All arithmetic calculations, unit evaluations, domain assistants (such as fuel dynamics, split calculations, and inventory tracking), and natural language math recognition are executed 100% locally on your device processor. No input text, formulas, or calculations are ever uploaded to cloud artificial intelligence models or remote processing servers.

5. Optional Apple iCloud Backup

Rowen includes an optional user-directed iCloud Backup feature using Apple’s native CloudDocuments infrastructure. When enabled:

• Encrypted backup archives are transferred directly between your device and your personal Apple iCloud account.
• Rowen developers and operators have zero visibility into or access to your personal iCloud container, backup files, or encryption keys.
• You can disable iCloud Backup or delete individual backup archives at any time directly in the app Settings.

6. Service Providers, Analytics & Operational Infrastructure

To ensure optimal application performance, diagnostic stability, and essential operational fulfillment, Rowen utilizes select industry-standard infrastructure and analytics services under strict confidentiality agreements:

• RevenueCat & Apple StoreKit: Utilized to validate App Store in-app purchase receipts, manage subscription entitlements, and process pro tier status securely.
• Diagnostics & App Telemetry: Aggregated crash reporting, technical diagnostics, and application performance metrics may be collected to identify software defects, monitor responsiveness, and ensure continuous operational reliability.
• Strict Boundary: These service providers are strictly prohibited from utilizing collected data for behavioral advertising or profiling. Detailed calculation entries, custom variables, formulas, and notes are never shared with or transmitted to any analytics or advertising platform.

7. Zero Third-Party Advertising

Rowen contains zero third-party advertising SDKs, zero cross-app ad trackers, and zero behavioral marketing networks. We never sell, rent, or trade your personal data under any circumstances.

8. Data Ownership, Portability & Deletion Rights

You maintain complete ownership of your data at all times. You can export your smart strips, historical logs, and steppers as clean CSV or JSON files whenever you wish. You can permanently erase all local application records via Settings, or permanently delete your account credentials if signed in.

9. Security Measures

We implement industry-standard safeguards, including secure iOS Keychain storage for authentication tokens and modern TLS 1.3 encryption for all network communication with verification services.

10. Children’s Privacy

Rowen is not directed at children under the age of 16, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us immediately.
